The Web Summit Lisbon 2017 starts today
Starts today the 2017 edition of the Web Summit, the world's largest technology and innovation conference.
By November 9, more than 60,000 participants from more than 160 countries will attend this event of international projection aimed at companies and investors.
The first edition of the Web Summit had only 400 participants, a small number considering that the conference currently has more than 1,000 speakers and 60,000 participants.

In recent days, it has been confirmed that António Guterres will open the Web Summit on November 6th as Secretary General of the United Nations and that Al Gore, a politician and environmental activist, will close the conference.
On the 7th, selected startups will start competing in PITCH, a 3-day competition and a startup that will be the winner, with the opportunity to present their business and business idea on the main stage of the Web Summit.
5% of the speakers are Portuguese, among them José Manuel Barroso, former president of the European Commission; Carlos Moedas, European Commissioner for Science and Innovation; José Neves, founder and CEO of Farfetch; Domingos Soares de Oliveira (Benfica SAD administrator), Tiago Pires, surfer; João Barros, CEO of Veniam; and João Guerra, co-founder of the Dream Factory Network.
